Overview

What BTL fabrication is, and when it works

BTL fabrication is the physical build: kiosks, canopies, stalls, gantries, props and point-of-sale units, made from approved drawings in a workshop and installed on site. Owning the workshop rather than sub-contracting it is what makes multi-city rollouts both cheaper and repeatable, because the same drawing produces the same unit in every city.

A fabricated unit is the only part of an activation that is identical everywhere, so it carries the brand's consistency. It also determines cost at scale: a modular design that flat-packs and travels can be reused across a dozen cities, while a one-off custom build is written off after a single event. The design decision, not the material rate, is what moves the budget.

Who it reaches

Brands and agencies that need a physical build produced to drawing, delivered to multiple cities and installed without surprises on site.

Best suited for

  • Multi-city rollouts that need an identical unit in every city
  • Exhibitions where the stall is judged alongside competitors
  • Campaigns where daily setup and teardown must be done by two people
  • Replacing a vendor whose finish quality varies between cities
  • Programmes that need units refurbished and reused across a season
  • In-store POSM produced in volume to one print standard

Investment

What BTL fabrication costs in India

Indicative investment

₹20,000 – ₹30L per project

Indicative pricing for BTL fabrication is ₹20,000 – ₹30L per project, exclusive of GST at 18%. It is a planning band, not a quotation — the variables that actually move it are venue-days, team size, how custom the build is, and venue or permission fees.

Formats

BTL Fabrication formats we run

Modular kiosks

Flat-pack, reusable units that assemble without power tools and travel in a standard vehicle. The default choice for any campaign running in more than three cities.

Custom stalls and pavilions

Built to a specific design for exhibitions and launches, where the structure itself is the statement and reuse is secondary.

Canopies and gantries

Lightweight branded structures for markets, haats, forecourts and society gates, designed to be put up and taken down daily by a two-person team.

POSM and in-store units

Shelf strips, danglers, standees, end-cap units and counter displays produced in volume to a consistent print standard across stores.

Props and experiential sets

Scaled props, photo-op sets and interactive housings, usually in MDF, acrylic or metal with a painted or wrapped finish.

Installation and refurbishment

Site installation by the workshop's own team, plus refurbishment between cities so a reused unit does not look reused.

What 6 days of BTL fabrication actually costs

Take a 6-day BTL fabrication programme in a tier 1 metro, staffed with 7 people (4 technicians, 1 supervisor and 2 housekeepings), running at a weekday in a mall kiosk. Here is the direct cost, computed at tier 1 rates rather than estimated.

Process

How we run BTL fabrication

  1. 01Days 1-5

    Design & drawing approval

Concept, 3D visual and fabrication drawing, approved with materials and finishes named, so what is built matches what was signed.

  2. 02Days 5-10

    Prototype & sign-off

A single unit built and inspected before the full run. This is the cheapest point at which to change anything.

  3. 03Days 10-20

    Production run

Carpentry, metalwork, printing and finishing in the workshop, with quality checks against the approved prototype rather than the drawing alone.

  4. 04Before go-live

    Despatch & installation

Packed with an assembly guide and installed on site by the workshop team, finishing ahead of the venue's activation start time.

  5. 05Between cities

    Refurbish & reuse

Inspection, repair and reprinting between legs so a unit on its fifth city does not look like it. Reuse count is tracked per unit.

Timing that changes the result

Demand and response peak around September to November — Navratri, Durga Puja, Dussehra and Diwali — the highest-response and highest-cost window of the year. Book teams, venues and fabrication early for that window, because vendor pricing moves with it.

Measurement

What gets reported, and how

Every campaign reports the same way: attendance against roster, geo-tagged and time-stamped photographs per venue, contacts engaged counted on the capture tool rather than estimated, and leads verified by callback before they are counted. Weak locations show up in the first week, which is the only point at which they can still be fixed.

FAQ

BTL Fabrication FAQs

What is BTL fabrication?+

In-house fabrication of stalls, kiosks, canopies and props.

How much does BTL fabrication cost in India?+

Indicative pricing is ₹20,000 – ₹30L per project. The variables that actually move a quote are the number of cities and days, team size, how custom the build is, and venue or permission fees. Tier 1 metro day rates run above tier 2. GST applies at 18%.

Which cities do you cover for BTL fabrication?+

70 Indian cities, covering every tier 1 metro and the major tier 2 markets, each with a local team rather than a travelling one.

What is included?+

Typical deliverables are design, carpentry, printing and installation. Measurement covers build completed to approved drawing without site modification, installation finished before the venue's activation start time and finish quality accepted at first inspection.

Should I choose a modular or a custom build?+

Modular, if the campaign runs in more than about three cities — the unit is reused and the per-city cost falls sharply. Custom is worth it for exhibitions and launches where the structure itself is the statement and it only has to work once.

Why does the prototype matter?+

It is the cheapest point at which to change anything. A finish, joint or assembly problem found on one unit costs one unit; the same problem found after the production run costs the whole run plus the schedule.

Can units be reused across cities?+

Yes, and that is usually where the savings are. Units are designed to flat-pack, then inspected, repaired and reprinted between legs. Reuse count is tracked per unit so the refurbishment budget is planned rather than discovered.
